    365 days of OSRS's lore, Day 29: What are the gods and the elder gods? And where are they?

    Gods, one of the most classical tropes in high fantasy stories, they're the ones to whom you pray to whenever you need protection, they have been the source of endless wars on Gielinor and.. frankly not much else, most gods in Runescape haven't been but a source of trouble for everyone.

    But how does one god? And what entails to be a god? Well you have to see gods As the greek gods, but without the attribute niche, every god has varying degrees of control over the same powers, Brassica prime, god of cabbages, has the same control over nature as Guthix, god of balance, one is simply much more powerful than the other and their magics and powers are shaped after their leitmotifs. As for how to god, some are born gods, like the siblings Zaros and Seren, some take godhood by slaying a god like Guthix and Zamorak, and some achieve godhood by the use of a godly artefact, like Saradomin or V.

    But there is a step beyond the gods, the Elder Gods. Not much is known about these superior gods, but it is implied that they are gods far superior in power, Jas seems to be the creator of the Stone of Jas, the most powerful tool in Gielinor, we also know the existance of Ful, god/dess aligned to the element of fire, and Mah, who created Zaros, Seren and all of the Mahjarrat.

    I love this game's lore, and I wish more than only a tiny fraction of the community knew about these stories, so I'll be posting once a day a lore bit to promote interest into this game's rich lore.

    I will be using lore from RS3 only when I deem it clear enough that the lore between the two is shared, as quests like SOTE, DSII and SOTF have shown that most of it has mainly stayed the same, if not for some additions.

    I like the little songs that play when you level up, but the new sound effect covers it up and I don't understand why they added it
