    The only thing that makes old school old school is the pre-EoC combat.

    Y'all are arguing over things like whether we should add skills, and forgetting that the only reason old school was made necessary was the introduction of EoC.

    That abortion of a mechanic fundamentally changed the game. New skills, new areas, new gear, none of this will fundamentally change the game in the same way.

    Old school was created to bring back the click simulator. What we click on doesn't matter as much as the fact that we are a click simulator

    He talks about how expanding the game is the way to keep it interesting for players. A LOT more map, more skills, more bosses.

    Of course, that's obvious. Good new content would be great. No one really is arguing against that.

    In the same video he pokes fun at Kourend and how much of a travesty it was on release and how it took 7 years to put it in a presentable state.

    "Why are people voting no to expansions?"

    ... Maybe that's why? Maybe it's because we don't want bad new content? Maybe the polling has more to do with what the community thinks the devs can "bite off and chew" alongside balancing new content.

    Armadyl armor, bandos armor, dragon boots (from a slayer mob, nonetheless), z spear, and of course godswords and their specs.

    The actual "2007 old-school" RuneScape dropped huge content like this that made a bunch of new BiS gear. Hell, even the BiS melee prayers came as a reward from a quest.

    It's time to stop limiting the game with this false notion of what the game used to be like. It didn't give a shit about power creep. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be judicious about what we add, but game changing weapons and armor that are the new "best" items is what 2007 RuneScape was about. Not absurdly niche sidegrades.

    We have had 3 new prayers since release, none of them original.

    Chambers of Xeric introduced 3 new prayers. Have offensive prayers now peaked? Will we ever get a new overhead? Will a new prayer book ever release?
