    365 days of OSRS's lore, Day 4: The third age of Gielinor, the age of the God Wars

    After Zaros's death and the fall of the Zarosian empire, the power shift was so sudden and so great that every god within Gielinor waged war against eachother in an attempt to cannibalize as much of the fallen empire as they could.

    This is an age so full of so many important events, many of which I won't even touch upon today, but we will revisit this age multiple times in the future, in a less crammed manner.

    Saradomin has now the biggest army in Gielinor, as the Zarosian one is currently split between zamorakian insurrectionists and zarosian loyalists, he will lead many crusades in the fallen Hallowvale (now known as Morytania) in what will be many failed attempts to recover the land. He will also partake in the many wars for the zarosian territories against both Zamorak and the Zarosians, among many other armies from many other gods, but Saradomin would be the one to conquer the ruined Zarosian capital of Senntisten, upon which the Saradominists would build Saranthium, a great capital that also fell somewhere in the fourth age. Both of these cities are now closely studied upon in the Fifth age in the archealogical area known as the dig site, east of Varrock.

    In this age many gods and creatures were exterminated, even the great white dragons, whose very hide is theorized to be what composes our third age equipment, were extinguished in this age. The very land of Gielinor was burned to ash, some of it's land never to recover, like the jungles of the kharidian region, and the lush forests of Forinthry, whose lands were singlehandedly turned into the ashen landscape we know now as the wilderness by the hands of Zamorak.

    The land's devastation and warring was what finally, after ages of sleep, awoke Guthix from his deep slumber, who, to put an end to the endless war, established the Edicts of Guthix, which both forbid Godly presences within the planet, and forbid any large-scale wars from being waged. This act was successful in ending the wars, and with the wars so did the age come to a close, ushering into the fourth age, an age of recovering.

    I love this game's lore, and I wish more than only a tiny fraction of the community knew about these stories, so i'll be posting once a day a lore bit to promote interest into this game's rich lore.

    I will be using lore from RS3 only when I deem it clear enough that the lore between the two is shared, as quests like SOTE, DSII and SOTF have shown that most of it has mainly stayed the same, if not for some additions.

    Can we get a left click smash button for infernal eels while it is equipped? Was surprised it didn't have this option while fishing the other night.. just seems like a straight forward perk the hammer should have as an equipable item.
