    JaGeX Financial Report Analysis - 92% of prior year profit given to shareholders, game assets remain incredibly under-valued.

    DISREGARD title - error in initial analysis, it's actually well over 100% of profit for the year paid as dividends (ie: The new owners just robbed the reserve coffer blind!)

    I will post again tomorrow as an image, with the correct dividend amount of $76M paid out last year to be recorded.

    Here's the most recent published annual report for the calendar year ended 31 December 2019.

    Financial report starts on page 15.

    Revenues: £110,858,720

    Cost of Sales: (£39,108,355)

    Gross Profit: £71,750,365

    Administrative expenses: (£23,741,815)

    Operating Profit: £48,008,550

    Finance Income: £423,477

    Profit before Tax: £48,432,027

    Tax: (£2,146,435)

    Net Profit for the Calendar Year: £46,285,592

    So.... Where did the 46 Mil in profit go?

    Straight to dividends of course!

    Dividends Paid: £76,407,644

    (Exceeds profit, and erodes reserves by 77%!)

    365 days of OSRS's lore, Day 27: The dragonkin conflicts, the terror after the god wars.

    The dragonkin conflicts were a multitude of terrible attacks which happened over the course of around a 100 years, they were committed by the Dragonkin, a race of powerful and intelligent dragon-like creatures who were enslaved by the Elder God Jas to be the guardians of the Stone of Jas, the most powerful tool in Gielinor.

    These conflicts started due to Saradomin and Zamorak's misuse of the Stone of Jas by the end of the god wars, especially when Zamorak blew up the entirety of Forinthry with it. The thing about Jas's curse is that it tortures the dragonkin, causing in them an uncontrollable rage which burns in them whenever the stone is misused. But, because of the fact that the Edicts of Guthix kicked all gods out of the world, the dragonkin had no gods to vent their ire on, so they settled on their followers, unleashing themselves and their created creatures like the dragons unto the already devastated Gielinor, filled with many settlements who were just starting to rebuild from the god wars.

    In this period we see the devastation of Crandor (the isle of DS1), the creation of many dragonkin experiments like Vorkath and Zulrah, the mass emigration of people from Gielinor to Zeah who would go on to build the cities of Hosidius and Shayzien, and the battle on Lithkren, which would lead to the events of DS2.

    The dragonkin conflicts would come to an end at the hands of Robert the strong and his loyal panther, Odysseus, they would drive the dragonkin back into their fortresses, and they would stay there for 2000 years, until someone ends up opening the Lithkren Vault...

    A battle between Robert the Strong and a Dragonkin at the beginning of the 4th age.

    I love this game's lore, and I wish more than only a tiny fraction of the community knew about these stories, so I'll be posting once a day a lore bit to promote interest into this game's rich lore.

    I will be using lore from RS3 only when I deem it clear enough that the lore between the two is shared, as quests like SOTE, DSII and SOTF have shown that most of it has mainly stayed the same, if not for some additions.
