    For those who remember, we used to host regular events for the subreddit. We are hoping to revive that tradition and starting hosting events monthly! So why not start with a classic? New and old players are invited to join us at Castle Wars (no membership required!) in just over a week!! Saturday, August 8th.

    If you have been around long enough to be affiliated with one of our in-game clan chats, you can orient your position as follows:

    • '2007_reddit' clan chat: Zamorak Portal
    • 'reddit_07' clan chat: Saradomin Portal
    • I have never visited these clan chats and don't care to: Guthix portal (or whichever portal your prefer)

    Join either the '2007 Reddit' clan chat for Zamorak or the '07 Reddit' clan chat for Saradomin, and bash it out in this classic Runescape minigame for the glory.. or just for the nostalgia. All levels are welcome and nooby gear is encouraged - bonus points if you're rocking bronze armor! This should be a fun event to make new friends, reunite with old ones and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of OSRS at it's best. Hope to see you there! Keep an eye out for Livestream links!

    I am hoping that this will be seen by a J-mod please god...but I recently got back into osrs a few months ago. And after returning from work today and logging in to do some dailies it prompt me to change my name. I received the name, Blow, from the 2017 name release and have had it for a solid 3 plus years now. I did not trade anyone for it, I did not attempt to sell to anyone IRL absolutely nothing, just logged in and it was gone. Can a J-mod please have this look into and reconsidered. As a long time player from all the way back to 2006, I am absolutely crushed to lose my only OG tag after all the effort and countless tries in attempting to receive one throughout the years. :( Thank you for your time.

    A player named Ingus has discovered a two-and a half year old easter egg, which is hidden dialogue seen when using "Imcandoria's fall" on Thurgo and Freja.

    The book "Imcandoria's fall", written by Mod Raven (the lore expert of RS3), was released alongside Dragon Slayer II on 4 January 2018. Since then, Mod West and Mod Wolf (prior to his resignation), had once hinted the Myths' Guild had an easter egg no one had found yet.

    However, a player named Ingus appears to have found it after two and a half years! He's posted a video about it earlier today, but I've pasted the hidden dialogue here:

    Using the book on Freja

    • Freja: Ah, so you've found my latest donation to the guild, what do you think? Spooky, isn't it?
    • Player: Just a bit. Is this the original text? It doesn't look that old...
    • Freja: Oh Guthix, no! These texts are inscribed in rock paper in a tome even I struggle to lift, the writer left it there as a warning and I assume they didn't want it to be moved.
    • Player: Did you translate it?
    • Freja: I certainly tried... Perhaps there are some date inconsistencies and a few words I had to guess at. I had found a lot of trade scrolls with early Fremennik tribes on the isle too, which certainly made my job easier.
    • Player: Imcandoria... Do you think that's where the Imcando dwarves originate?
    • Freja: It certainly seems reasonable. It is said that an angry Fremennik chief launched an attack on Asgarnia, a war on magic is what the singers say.
    • Player: Interesting...

    Using the book on Thurgo

    • Player: What do you make of this, Thurgo?
    • Thurgo quickly reads the book.
    • Thurgo: Hmph, who wrote this text? It seems new.
    • Player: I-
    • Thurgo: Nevermind! If you ever plan on going back to this island, I'll happily come along.
    • Player: Oh... Umm... Err...
    • Player: So you believe it could possibly lead to the ancient ruins of your race?
    • Thurgo: I'll believe it when I see it... Now begone, I've got things to do.
    • Player: Alright, Thurgo. I'll see you later.

    [Suggestion] Ironman cage for our POH

    Let us build an ironman cage in our POH, serving as a place for all ironman visitors. This way our ironmeme friends could visit us for our house parties and get jealous they cant play with others, cus they would be locked up. Put a box of rotten tomatoes there as well for some extra entertainment.

    I made a post b4 about how in 07 we got a new quest every month. People said we can't have that now because quests nowwa days are all grandmaster or master and have entire city's as rewards. Why can we just have quests where doing the quest, enjoying the story and the challenge are their own rewards!

    "Oh not everyone likes quests" not everyone likes anything! How many people never plan to do a single boss? Or never plan to do any pvp? Even if it's not 1 a month like the old days 1 a year is terrible

    After months of playing and burrying longbones I just discovered that you can trade them for 4500 construction xp, which is worth over 40k gold (much more depending on the plank you use). I feel dumb because I've probably lost over a mil gp from not knowing this. Idk if it's widely known or not, but since I thought "oh I wish I knew that before", posting it could be useful for someone. It also works with curved bone, but it gives 6500 xp.

    Stay safe everyone, and be sure not to waste your free construction xp when you get it.

    Finally got my girlfriend to play old school with me, and now she's sad

    After spending two years trying to get my girlfriend to play RS with me, she finally agreed only if we do the exact same quests together so she doesn't get lost. She was watching videos about old school with me, and was interested so she decided to give it a try and I just about jumped out of the couch to help her set up an account and hear that beautiful tutorial island music. It was a cute premise as well, doing the same things together, so I agreed because ya boi can just play the main while we play together. She's tried RS3 in the past and got overwhelmed with the amount of stuff going on in that game and would quit after like a week. We did a bunch of quests and we were having a ton of fun and I was super happy I finally got her to play.

    Fast forward to three days ago, I suggest we grind out agility to get the graceful set to make questing faster and she was about it cause who doesn't like more run energy. We're 8 hours in and my girl, after getting 52 agility, has a funny feeling she's being followed. Not knowing what it was, I told her it's the agility pet and it's that little squirrel following her. She freaks out celebrating it, naming it (she named it Pachi after the pokemon), all that. It gave her an extra level of motivation to play the game with me, which I welcomed. I was super happy for her and told her to make sure she insures it or picks it up before doing any combat. We finish the agility after one more day and get our sets and go about our business.

    The very next day, not even 24 hours later, I'm at work, she's doing a hill giant's task. She decides to try Obor (her first boss, at 48 combat) after looking it up on the wiki and deciding she can do it. She has literally never done a boss before (we hadn't even done Dragon Slayer at this point). She texts me after trying that she died trying to kill him and I thought nothing of it cause she got all her stuff back. I get home and ask her where her pet was and she said she died with him out. I asked if she insured it, she did not. She started crying, asking me if there was a way to get it back without insurance. I checked the wiki and told he what it said but we looked at death's office and that guy in Catherby anyway with the shred of hope we had left.

    After she came to the realization that it was gone, she logged off and didn't get back on. I don't think I've accurately described how obsessed she is with cute pets in games cause she was *crying*. I felt so bad for her cause she never gets rare drops like that and she was so happy getting it. I was able to convince her to get back on after a day but she kept looking at the spot where her squirrel was, wondering if it was possible to get it again. I told her she might get it again but looking at that drop rate, I know that's probably not gonna happen. Better to have loved and lost I suppose. Feels bad man.

    Sorry for the long post, thought you guys would enjoy reading a series of unfortunate events.

    tl;dr Finally got my girlfriend to play old school with me, was having fun, she got the agility pet drop, lost it trying a boss, and is now quite upset. A tragic tale.

    im not even talking about the energy regen, that shouldn't come back for obvious reasons. literally just being able to sit down was kinda nice to me. i dont know how much of a minority im in but it was like comforting i guess? like you could just plant your cheeks at the GE or at the end of some dangerous area and take a moment to chill out. and other people would see you just chillin out. maybe strike up a convo. the music folk sprinkled around the map were also nice.

    i know its not the authentic 07 experience and im definitely weird as fuck for missing this but osrs aint exactly the hyper faithful iteration of an old game it was initially meant to be. i yearn for that rest button, even if it has no practical use. thats all lol.
