They are designated for you to ask anything you like that is relevant to the game or this subreddit. Remain respectful to your fellow 'scapers when answering questions; there are stupid questions, but it does not mean you should not be respectful whilst answering them. Keep in mind that this is not a developer Q&A thread - questions for the game developers should be posted in the weekly developer Q&A posts. Petition to Require a Bank Pin Before Trading, Dropping, or Duelling Posted: 22 Apr 2021 12:21 PM PDT Many people are hacked, and they forget to put their gear set in their bank. Some people's gear is the equivalent of their bank value minus maybe some skilling materials, and to those who get hacked with 1b+ worth of gear on and ~50m worth of skilling, materials are probably going to quit the game after getting hacked. Requiring a bank pin to trade, drop, duel or even enter the wilderness would be beneficial as it would be one more step that a hacker would have to take to steal everything off of someone's account. I think this would be a great system to add to OSRS, and it wouldn't really affect much in the game. What are your all's thoughts? Edit: Thank you all for the support and the suggestions! I honestly think this would be an amazing QOL update for the game, even if it is an optional feature. <3 [link] [comments]
Please do tob kits for Scythe, Rapier, Sang instead of justiciar armour Posted: 23 Apr 2021 07:38 AM PDT jagex posted a thread where they discussed cm tob basically. Here they talked about twisted kit equivalent for justi armour, but can we please do twisted kits for scythe, rapier, sang instead? they are way more iconic weapons and actually worn a lot. see the post here: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/a-night-at-the-theatre?oldschool=1#_ga=2.150362676.301036628.1618999816-1161928589.1615576910 [link] [comments]

PSA: HDOS is planning to be released as a Closed Source Client. Know the risks! Posted: 22 Apr 2021 09:18 PM PDT I think HDOS shows a lot of promise, and has the potential to be absolutely amazing for the game. However, it's important people understand the risks of using this client. According to the FAQ, HDOS will be released as a closed source project, meaning that nobody besides the developers (or Jagex, if Jagex does end up responding to the devs) will be able to review the code. As a result, using this client is putting a lot of trust in the developers to properly handle users data. Passwords, IP addresses, and bank values can potentially be viewed by the developers when logging into this client. The closed source nature of HDOS makes the client very different than the case of Runelite being open source. Obviously Runelite's code is able to be reviewed by everybody, but another major difference is that only HDOS devs will be able to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of their client, as opposed to the hundreds of contributors for Runelite. If the HDOS dev team gets burnt out from working on the project, how can we know that our data will be secure if the devs decide to call it quits on the project? Hint: we can't. I don't know what kind of reputation the HDOS developers have in the community. However, even if they are considered trustworthy, personally I will never feel comfortable trusting my account information with a closed source client. I'm not saying that I believe the HDOS developers will try to scam, but I'm saying that every person needs to weigh the benefits and the potential risks of using this client before logging in to it for the first time. I'm sure the developers have put a lot of thought into the decision to be closed source and they must have good reasons for doing so. However, for many people who have put thousands of hours into their accounts, the devs need to figure out a way to make this client open sourced if they ever want to use it. [link] [comments]
