    Exposing the lurers and their methods. The Peach Lure

    The current state of luring

    As most of you already know Jagex finally disabled the animation stalls on PVP worlds on the the 2nd of july 2020, this however does not fix the problem, the current method they use is called "Peaching"

    I will give a short and brief explanation how the lurers carry out those lures.

    Part 1 scouting players.

    Scouting isn't done manually by hopping to random worlds, instead the lurers use scouting bots to do this, they run about 20 of those wealth scouting bots that look for potential targets.

    1. Leech (red marked) basically someone they tried to lure before and failed to, they don't go for them, those bots also track name changes/double name changes.
    2. Non-Leech This is someone they haven't tried yet.

    The second part is approaching wealthy players, they mostly target people wearing tbows or items of equivalent value, I will list the most common approaching scripts below.

    Part 2 Approaching players.

    The lurers always use high level accounts with max capes/infernal capes and pets to approach other players, or they just use low level pures/zerkers with infernal capes and pets.

    ​

    1. They approach players and ask them to buy supplies like 13k grapes from the the G.E because they're going for 200M cooking and they hit the G.E limit, the unusual part of this is they give players the cash in advance to buy those supplies in order to gain their trust, take the cash and ignore them) but if you decided to buy the grapes and trade them over they will give you a 1M tip and tell you to add them.

    1. They approach players and ask typical pvm related questions like if you do tob/cox or
      how many pets you have.

    2. They randomly pm players and say things like Hey i'm cleaning my friends list, where did we meet? after that a short conversation the lurer will ask you if you want to go pvm because he's back to OSRS after a long break.

    Part 3 The so called "Anti-Lure" also known as the Decoy Lure.

    Most experienced players know that anti-luring is the premise of the majority of lures, the so called help me with "anti-luring" isn't something new, anti-luring is part of the lure, the lurers want you to think you can outsmart them that's how all current lures go on Runescape.

    If you go on with any of the 3 scripts i've listed above they will be extremely friendly towards you and even invite you to do a few tob/cox runs, and after a few days of gaining your trust they will PM you with exactly the same lines and ask you to help them so called "Anti-Lure" the lurer"

    After dropping the whip and 70k coins the lurer moves a few tiles and drops a high value item on the ground like a spectral/arcane/dragon hunter lance/DWH/DHCB/Kodai after dropping one high value item he will immediately pick it back up.

    The Whip/Zgs/Arcane Scroll you loot is purely to draw you into the lure.

    After you've failed to loot the high value item the so called "Anti-Lurer" will put the blame on you for missing it, they want you to think that it is your fault and make you feel guilty, after talking for a few minutes and blaming you even more the "Anti-Lurer" will propose you to act as a bait to find a new lurer, this is where the actual lure starts.

    Part 4 The real lure.

    After putting the blame on you for failing to loot the high value item the so called "Anti-Lure" proposes you to go to the G.E and tells you to wear a Tbow or something of equal value to attract another lurer.

    There are 2 scenarios that might happen next.

    1. The so called "Anti-Lurer" tells you to go and bait in populated world at the G.E you will get approached by a low level account showing you 2 or 3 items expensive items and some telegrab runes.
    2. Or they will screen share using fake overlays and acting like they're friends with Mod Roq/Mod Acorn/Mod Arcane asking the location of the lurer, the so called JMod will pass them the world and location so you can go try to bait him with wearing a tbow/scythe/ely or other expensive stuff.

    At this point the so called "Anti-Lure" will talk to you on discord and encourage you to go with him because you've failed to loot the high value item the previous attempt, during the whole lure the so called "Anti-Lurer" will say things like you can do it, we're gonna get those retards for 100m+, dude we're gonna make so much off them maybe we should team up after this and do more anti-luring.

    The current method they use is called "Peaching" this lure originated back in RS2 and adapted itself to OSRS, the way they execute this lure is very simple, they use 2 accounts with identical names if you look at this picture and the next video.

    The account trying to lure you and the one trading you have almost the same name like FLIPSLIPDIP and FLIPSLIPDlP they just replace the l with the capital I or vice versa, if you look close at this screenshot you will see the account with an identical name trading him and teleporting to the closest teleport spot, if you accept the trade request your account will run out of the bank.

    If you look close enough you will notice the difference, the guy trying to lure him and the guy trading him have almost the same name, they use the lowercase letter l and capital I (just like skull trickers do), the guy with the identical name trades the guy and teleport away to the closest spot and moves into position, they always let you typ a winning like "I'm the lucky winner today to participate in this giveaway and i will telegrab all items the director drops" because the account trading you and teleporting needs some time to move close to you because of the trading range.

    How did you guys get into OSRS, and why do you still play today?

    I am a 16 year old high school student, never played RS back in the good ol days or otherwise. Then in 2018, I was bored in a class where I had an hour and a half to myself since I had all my work done the session before. Hopped on the Google Play Store and saw Oldschool Runescape. I remember being curious about Runescape though my interest was small, I had heard about Runescape from Minecraft YouTubers back in 2013 or so but they were only small references or jokes, but because I rewatched those videos religiously so the name Runescape was branded into some obscure part of my brain. Anyways, back to mobile in 2018, made an account, aaaand I hated it. I couldnt figure out what to do and didnt like how it controlled, plus my phone screen was really small so I couldnt see much. But then, in December or so in 2018, I was in a hotel bored as hell since my parents went gambling so I was watching YouTube, when somehow I was recommended Colonello's video on the Falador Massacre. I watched it, and then watched another, and another, and so on. I started to learn about Runescape's history, inside the world and out. I learned about how the game actually works, what you can do, how to do it, and so on. I made another account after forgetting my 1st account's login, and had an absolute blast since I was on a computer now, only using mobile when doing simple grinds like mining or smithing. Then, in March of this year, I finished Dragon Slayer, capping off the final F2P quest. I decided to finally take the plunge and buy membership, and here I am today. My current goal right now is to get a 99 here soon, which isnt really much for the majority of people but I really hope to finish 99 fletching before school starts back up again, and dont plan on ending there. Im really looking forward to what the future holds ingame!
