    TIL you can actually get an oily fishing rod in Trailblazer Leagues without unlocking Morytania

    Oily fishing rod is used to fish infernal eels, which are then cracked into lava scale shards used to make some herblore potions.

    Until now, the only way I knew about getting the oily fishing rod was by first obtaining blamish oil from some NPCs in Rellekka and using it on a normal fishing rod. This requires unlocking of Fremennik region, which I have.

    Although there is actually another way to obtain blamish oil without unlocking Fremennik (and much quicker). It needs Kandarin region though. That is going here (no region unlocks needed):

    From here, you can kill a snail which has a guarantee drop for a thin snail. Then use Telegrab spell to get it.

    Then you just go to Rasolo and buy a Sample bottle, use the snail on a pestle and mortar and mix the resulting blamish snail slime with a harralander potion (unf) to get th oil which you can then use on your rod.

    Jagex no one is enjoying clue scrolls in Trailblazers there has to be some change and the sooner the better.

    Let me preface this by saying, Trailblazers is amazing and I'm having a great time with it. I have 2 accounts on it just so I can experience different play styles and almost all the feedback I've read has been overwhelmingly positive.

    Right now there are two types of people on trailblazer, those who don't do clue scrolls, and those who are juggling clue scrolls. Neither is enjoying the content. Look through the trailblazer discord and search any conversation about clue scrolls and I challenge you to find someone happy with the current design.

    If you don't juggle clue scrolls its nearly impossible to actually finish any clue scroll above medium. Juggling clue scrolls sucks. There are thousands of points and even a lot of BiS gear for ranged locked behind clue scrolls. This is creating a bad game dynamic because the game is pressuring players into doing content that sucks.

    ​

    • Getting 7 steps into a hard clue to fail it sucks.
    • Having a 1/100 chance of completing a clue scroll without juggling sucks.
    • Having to wait until you get several clue scrolls to drop to be able to complete one sucks.
    • Having to drag 2 elite clue scrolls around the world while you're waiting for a third to drop sucks.
    • Not being able to log off or go afk for more than 3 minutes because the clue you're juggling will despawn sucks.
    • Having to drop Master clues because you know you can't complete them sucks.
    • Chasing a hot and cold device halfway across Kandarin only to find out it's in Asgarnia sucks.
    • Missing out on "easy" clue scroll tasks that could help get you to the wilder part of the game faster sucks.
    • Being locked out of your BiS gear sucks.
    • Picking a relic designed around doing clues sucks.

    I understand that clue scrolls can be pretty OP early game and completely negate a lot of grinds if players get lucky, which can make the game feel unrewarding. However, if they're in this state, it's better to just not have clue scrolls at all. Just make the gear that's important from it be acquired through another method like how NMZ was.

    Leagues are an opportunity to not only bring in new players to the game, but introduce existing players to new content. Many people will be doing Inferno, TOB, Zulrah, Vorkath, Gauntlet or Nightmare for their first time during these leagues. Clue scrolls are already a piece of content that many players don't interact with in the main game, this could be an opportunity to introduce htem.

    Additional Info:K and A are widely regarded as the best two zones in the game. They're also the best (relative use of the word best, it's still terrible) at clue scrolls in their current state.
