Discovered an amazing money-making method - Zero skill reqs, 8.5m/hr

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 10:13 AM PST

So there I was, grinding blood runes while waiting for mom to finish my snack. She comes in with the pizza rolls (triple cheese) and asks me "how's the job hunt going?" For the 100th time, I explain to her the concept of xp waste. Mom doesn't really understand the importance of efficiency so she threatens to revoke computer privileges unless I secure employment within the month. This obviously changes my efficiency calculus as my long-term xp rates would be pathetic if I'm limited to just 4 hours per day.

Long story short, I secure a position as a grocery store checkout service representative. The grind isn't too bad. It's pretty afk most of the time and there are enough unique interactions to add some variety. Two weeks in and I receive my first pay check. Three figures. The idea strikes me. I put my entire paycheck into old school bonds and sell them on the GE at 6m a piece. I run some numbers and discover I'm making a profit per hour of over 8.5m! This would be an amazing profit for even the most click-intensive high-skill grind, but this method has zero skill requirements and is mostly afk. I can't believe I've never heard of this method before. Hope this helps

    Community information (PSA/Reminder)

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 04:45 AM PST

So with the drama event of November 2019 comes something that is just really ticking me off. I'm just a community player myself, no one special.

This community is so toxic towards possibly the most open and feedback driven developers of any game to date.

Games in 2019 are only just now being community driven hugely, and OSRS has been driven for 6 years that way. Runescape has been up and running itself for over 20 years including classic. What the hell makes this community decide what they should and should not be told? What the hell makes the community think they can run jagex or this game better than jagex can themselves? Yea they have some issues. They also care about the game just as much as you and I, if not more. Ibe been on this game for over 14 years now, mod ash has been there for over 15.

Regarding the issue in hand --- What the hell is with the lynching of jagex because they didnt expose this themselves? Why should they. They should focus on fixing it. Preventing it. I am 100% in favor of rendi exposing it as its information HE found out, and went through the proper channels to get the issue resolved, jagex didnt explain what happened to the community so he posted his explanation of what happened to the community. Completely fair. Shpuldnt be punished or int trouble for it. He did the right thing. This doesnt mean jagex did the wrong thing. I think from a business aspect and a fixing the problem aspect they did the right thing.

Jagex is a good company, and osrs specifically an amazing game. 4 renditions in the 20 years they've been here is pretty impressive when you look at all the need for speeds, call of dutys, and battlefields that come out every damn year where you have to restart.

What to take from this ----- Let jagex do their damn job. Stop beating them up before they stop running polls. Before they stop relying on feedback for the game. Stop bullying them because they have to keep in mind it's not just a game it's a business. Stop trashing them because they do things a certain way. Theres a reason you're playing their game not the other way around. Treat them with the respect they deserve before they treat us like we treat them. Just because you dont agree with their methods, it's worked for 20 years. Take a step back and understand they arent stupid, they know what they're doing and there is a reason for it. They sit there and take it on the chin from this community every time an issue comes up because it doesnt matter what they do people arent going to be happy with how they handle it.

With all due respect to the commmunity, because that is part of what makes oldschool so great, stfu for once and respect what they do for us and respect that there ISNT an extra 100b in the game right now.

Absolutely disgusted by Twitch chat during Mod Bolton's statement. The mods even had to turn off the chat while he was speaking

Why do people act like this? The man is trying to explain things to you and all you do is mock him.
